Bright red as the color of her face. Looking like a bright red tomato. Her pale skin instantly jumping at the color. Her blue eyes bore into his as she saw the smile in them as well as the one on his face. Her face was hot. Why was he paying so much attention to her? No one ever did that. She found it weird and strange, and conflicting emotions coursed through her. What is this?!!!!!! WHAT IS THIS FOREIGN FEELING WE'VE NEVER FELT BEFORE!!!! Her mind and body screamed at her. Being social in general was foreign to her.
Her eyes flew to his hand that was now pulling hers away from her face. She stared at it with wide eyes. Her hand was dwarfed by his big one. He really was a big man. She was tiny standing next to him, and she was average height for woman. She noticed him freeze and stared back at him. Seemed he was blushing as well. WHY!? Why is your face red?! Why is my face red? These thoughts went through her mind rapidly. She adverted her eyes as he pulled his hand away. She noticed the slowness and helped him out, by pulling hers away. "Whelp. Need any help with anything else?" She blurted out, turning away from him. Suddenly wanting to be even smaller then she already was. Maybe she could just go disappear... Oh wait.. She could! But that would be rude. So instead and willed herself to stop being a tomato and went back to 'serious' JoAnna. Yes, she could do that. Right? RIGHT?! She hoped so. She picked her gun up and glanced at him out of the corner of her eye. Her lips were pursed into a thin line and she found herself fiddling with her fingers.

He smiled awkwardly as he saw her fiddling with her fingers, "I'm sorry...I..just..oohh I don't know..." He stumbled through his words, not quite able to make any sense of it himself. So many thoughts ran through his head I'm so dead. I don't think I should have done that. But it felt so nice...she's so small...and cute. Especially when she blushes. Ohh why can't I do anything right? First the fire and now this.
He wanted to leave, to pretend that nothing had happened. But he also wanted to stay, to be as close as possible to her. His eyes glanced over at the attendant, who seemed to be chuckling to himself about their predicament. He went back to watching JoAnna, she was so captivating, it was truly remarkable. He wondered if he'd ever thought about someone like this before but he knew it didn't matter.

She glanced up at him out of the corner of her eye, and her lips tugged up at the corners in a tiny smile as she saw him stumbling with his words. It was kinda cute. "Well...If you need anything I'll be over here then." She said pointing to her station. She offered him a gentle smile before she turned away. Taking her gun with her.
As she walked away her cheek started to flame red again. She went back to her booth and picked up and then raised her gun, clicking off the safety and fired a few rounds at her target. She realized then her hands were shaking and she had to put the gun down to take a deep breath. Her heart was racing and she didn't know why. Running her hand down over her face she scowled at herself. What was she doing? There was no reason to act this way. Growling softly she picked the gun up again and emptied the rest of the clip before putting the new magazine in.

John let his eyes follow her until she moved out of view. He felt his skin get hotter and frowned, turning his gaze to his glowing arms. A faint glow pulsed through his shirt as he groaned loudly in frustration. Growling to himself, John left the shooting range and stood in a clear part of the training room as he began to smell his shirt burning. As he tried to pull it off, his torso burst alight, turning the relatively soft cotton to scattered molecules.
His growl turned into a roar as the flames grew. Though oddly his mind was quite calm, Damn, I'm going to get into trouble for this...haha, if I'm lucky she'll just think I'm hot. Get it, hot? Wow, that was the worst joke I've ever told, and thankfully JoAnna didn't hear it. The flames died down after a minute or so, though they didn't quite go away, and he slumped to the floor. He looked over at JoAnna and came up with the stupidest thing to say, "Think they could hurry up on the flame-retardant clothing?"

The burning smell happened again and JoAnna turned her head wondering what was on fire now. She glanced over at fire extinguisher and eyed it. She looked over her shoulder and her eyes widened. That poor unfortunate shirt. She watched the remains just burn away and she took a sharp intake of breath. Oooooh dear. Her knees went weak for a brief moment seeing John's torso engulfed in flame. She was about ten seconds away from grabbing the extinguisher and putting him out. Luckily however the flames died down and she just bit her lip as she watched him sit down on the floor.
She walked towards him slowly, and crouched down a few feet away and peered into his eyes. Making sure to keep her eyes on his face, and not his rather....ehem....half naked body. As much as she wanted to look, she wouldn't draw attention to it and possibly embarrass him. "I think they only give it to us for missions." She said turning her head to the side. "I think your going to need a lot of request forms." A smirk crossed her face. "Why'd you suddenly go human torch? Does it just happen?" She asked curious. If this was his first day it made sense if he didn't quite have a grasp yet on his powers. She thought of Tavis then and she sniffed as remembered what he did to her hair that morning. He'd tossed in turned in his sleep, causing enough friction to send a burst of electricity to her bed which resulted in her getting electrocuted awake and her hair literally standing on end. She hadn't been pleased with him needless to say.

He shook his head, "I don't know...not yet anyways. I'll get a hold on it eventually, I'll just have to sleep in the shower." He gave her a little smile and laid back, enjoying the momentary coolness of the training room floor. A sigh of content left him, "If they expect us to train with our powers, they'll have to make sure our clothes don't get destroyed every time." He sits up sharply, his face furrowed in a frown as he spoke to himself, "Wow...it would have been really awkward if it happened with the rest of my body..." He groaned a little and laid back, covering his face with his hands.
His voice was muffled but still quite easy to understand, "Sorry for distracting you by the way...I know you were trying to get some more practice before I kinda...well, you know." He chuckled a little, "At-least life won't be boring right?"

Jo felt slightly bad for John. Not being able to control your powers was a bad thing. Lack of control meant there was a high possibility that you could potentially harm your unit members or someone else. She hoped, for his sake at least, that learned how to control it and fast.
She returned his small smile as she stood over him, edging a little bit closer, she bent over and rested her hands on her knees while his back was against the floor. "I'm sure they'll provide something for us." She straightened up when he sat up again. And for once actually let a laugh out. It was small, but still non the less a laugh. JoAnna hardly ever laughed. She couldn't remember the last time she had actually laughed. "Count your blessings." She said amused. She had a large grin on her face while she watched him groan through his hands. "I highly doubt anything will be boring with you around John." She put her hands on her hips as a smirk settled on her face. "And distractions are welcome. Sometimes." She found herself saying. She blushed again and then sighed. Hearing laughing coming from behind the check out counter. Jo turned her head to see the attendant chuckling at something. He had a large dopey grin on his face that almost appeared to be a knowing look. She arched and eyebrow as her brows furrowed together in confusion. "What's he laughed about?" She asked curiously. Completely oblivious to the situation.

He uncovered his face and looked over at the attendant before shaking his head, "I have no idea..." As JoAnna looked at the attendant, John took the chance to look at her more. God she's amazing... He sighed softly, wondering what she was thinking. Is she thinking about me, about training, she's probably trying to figure out what the attendant is laughing at. What is he laughing at? Is it us? Maybe he thinks my lack of control is funny. A tiny, but perfect, fireball manifested in his hand as he let his mind go through images of him throwing it at the attendant. But he didn't want to get into trouble so he decided against it.
"Let's ignore him..."

JoAnna looked out of the corner of her eye to see John making another fireball in his hand and she arched an eyebrow. Was he doing it on purpose or was this how his shirts caught on fire? She didn't know. Turned to her head to look down at him and then glanced at the clock. Leisure time would be ended soon, and then it would be work time. JoAnna had to head to the kitchen to start no doubt on the pile of dishes that would be awaiting her, and her favoritist person in the entire world! Tavis. She scowled at the clock not looking forward to having to go work with the asshole.
"Our leisure time is almost up. Should probably be heading out." She said glancing at John. She'd extend a hand out to him then, and help him to his feet before offering him a smile and then going and retrieving her gun. Emptying the clip out, she walked back over to the attendant and checked it back in, but eyed him as he did it. He just smirked more at her, which resulted in her rolling her eyes.

He gladly took her hand and got up, his muscles reflecting his strength even with the slight movements. He smiled with her and was a few steps behind her to return his firearm. He didn't quite know what the attendant had laughed at, but he was sure the rather murderous look in his eyes stilled whatever thoughts the attendant may have had against JoAnna and himself.
He winced inwardly as his eyes caught sight of the destroyed dummy once again, though he fell into step beside JoAnna, "I should probably go find a new shirt, shouldn't I? I mean, I can't show up to training tomorrow without a shirt on...though it might be an idea to take it off if I need to use my ability."

Once the gun was returned Jo left the gym with John walking beside her. She smiled at his comment as she looked ahead. "Might be a good idea. You wouldn't want to be stuck scrubbing toilets with a toothbrush." She said with a carefree note to her voice. She knew what scrubbing toilets with a tooth brush was like. And it wasn't pleasant. Granted she hadn't been forced to, she had willingly done it to herself after she fixed the dryer in the kitchen.Showing that even though she had gotten off easy, she hadn't let herself get off easy for not working like she was supposed to.
They came to an intersection in the hallway, and Jo made to make a left to head to the phoenix unit barracks. She turned her head only slightly and gave John a small wave. "See yeah around. Good luck with the shirts." She smirked before she continued down the hallway and back to her room.

He smiled and watched her until she vanished from sight. You are so going to get yourself in trouble if you try it John. Don't you...no, you're gonna do it. Wait until another day, then it's less creepy. He eventually turned and went to the Unicorn Unit barracks, looking down at his bare chest. He mumbled to himself, "It's a bit nippy...I wonder if the heating's on..."[/b] He went to his bunk and laid down, hoping he wouldn't start a fire as his mind walked through the recent events, from waking up with no memories, to the fun with JoAnna. Somehow it seemed perfectly natural.
