The year is 2089. 69 years ago, the great Unican leaders united many countries of the Americas under a common cause: justice and freedom. Unfortunately, the tyrants of Sudo Europea in the former European and African countries, and Kaipan Minor in the former Asian countries, were bullying and enslaving countless other countries under the guise of similar causes. However, the Unican leaders knew they spoke lies, and refused to bow down before them.

This indomitable spirit still runs strong in Unicans today.

In 2067 when the beasts of Sudo Europea sent assassins to slaughter our President Valencia as well as eighteen other innocents who had championed the cause of peace between empires, the clear act of war could not go unanswered.

With a heavy heart, the newly promoted Emperor Johannes Blakeley gave the order to strike down these monsters who had stabbed us in the back with no remorse. The bombs were launched, and those of our people who heeded the warnings of their great Emperor moved into the underground facilities for safety. This was the beginning of a new era.

Unica still stands strong, her people unbowed and full of fiery will and determination. Here, underground, we have thrived by the hard work of our people and the wise, watchful eyes of our leaders. The Triad will not let us fall! They will raise humanity up to new heights and push us beyond limits we did not know we could surpass.

Five years ago our illustrious leaders Master Commander Davenport, Head Scientist Powlett, and Civilian Leader Chambers - better known as the The Triad - began a program that would end the tyranny of the Eastern Empires. Through their extensive research, a hidden human genome was discovered and unlocked. Superhuman powers never before seen in our world were awakened in 50 lucky citizens. These citizens became Generation X of the new Powered Peoples Program to strengthen our military. Though less than 20 of the original Gen X Powereds still live today, they died in service to their Empire and will be forever honored.

Through the dedication of The Triad, our scientists, and our military officials, the awakening and training of a new and improved Generation Y has begun.
